Diversity In Recruitment Action Group

Diversity in Recruitment Action Group is an initiative to improve recruitment number volunteers from ethnic minority backgrounds by building links with diverse communities at a grassroots level.

Why is it important?

People from ethnic minority backgrounds are underrepresented in research.

It is essential that clinical trials include volunteers that are representative of the different groups that make up our population.

Medical treatments can have varying effects for people of different ethnic backgrounds.

This means that when people from ethnic minority backgrounds are not included in clinical trials it can have negative consequences.

By participating in clinical trials you can help make new vaccines and treatments safer and more effective for other people from a similar background.

Diversity in Recruitment Action Group will produce recruiment materials aimed specifically at recruiting volunteers from communities under represented in clinical research.

The group will build links with communities under represented in clinical research at a grass-roots level.

Our work

The following video was produced in collaboration with the 1928 institute with aim outlining why is it important for people from the British Indian community to enrol in clinical trials.
