Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are an essential part of vaccine development. They are categorised as "Phase I" trials taking place in the UK, and "Phase II" field trials taking place in an endemic country.

The majority of the Institute's Phase 1 trials take place at the Centre for Clinical Vaccinology and Tropical Medicine, Churchill Hospital, Oxford.

If you would like to become involved in a clinical trial as a volunteer, please follow the below links for further information on current trials and to register your interest.

Safety and Immunogenicity of ChAd63 ME-TRAP / MVA ME-TRAP heterologous prime boost malaria vaccination adjuvanted with Matrix M™: A Phase I Controlled Clinical Trial (VAC048)

Tuberculosis:

A Phase I Clinical trial to evaluate the Safety and Immunogenicity of a ChAdOx1 85A vaccination with and without MVA85A boost in healthy BCG vaccinated adults (TB034)

A phase I, open label trial to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of AERAS-402 followed by MVA85A in BCG vaccinated adults (TB032)
