Adam Berg
Research Scientist
After I graduated with a MBioSci from the University of Sheffield I first worked in the Department of Physiology Anatomy and Genetics (DPAG) for four years working on Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
I joined the Jenner institute in 2019 under Sandy Douglas initially as a Research Assistant and have since progressed to a Research Scientist. Over my time at the institute I have worked on a wide range of projects including vaccine thermostability, lyophilisation, rabies viral glycoprotein molecular structure, the manufacturing process for the Jenner’s COVID-19 vaccine and most recently process development for the groups EBV vaccine work. I am also the Douglas groups laboratory manager and I work to ensure smooth running of our equipment and spaces.
In addition to my research role I also act as the deputy laboratory manager for the Jenner institute providing training and guidance to other scientists and helping with the day to day running of the laboratories. This includes my role as the Jenner Institute's Biological safety officer.
