Cheelsea Pereira

Technology Transfer Specialist

After graduating with a BSc in Biomedical Science from Royal Holloway, University of London, I went on to work as a Research Technician under Experimental Medicine, NDM. I supported the COVID-19 Serology Antibody Detection platform which was a vital part of a large-scale post-vaccination sero-epidemiological survey led by the Office of National Statistics.

I joined Oxford Biomedica as a Biotechnologist in 2021; I led upstream and downstream manufacturing processes within MHRA and FDA-regulated GMP cleanrooms. I have experience working at 50L and 200L scales in CL2 and CL3 viral rooms to manufacture drug substances for commercialised and clinical trial products. I became a trainer and SME on core manufacturing activities and assisted with the management of Quality Management Systems documents (Deviations, Change controls, CAPAs and EMEs).

I joined The Jenner Institute under Sandy Douglas as a Technology Transfer Specialist for EBV. I work in collaboration with the EBV Process Development Team and the Clinical Biomanufacturing Facility.
