Jolynne is a Leverhulme Mandela Rhodes scholar from Kenya. She is reading for a DPhil in Clinical Medicine and is a member of Hertford college. Her background is in Clinical Epidemiology and Nursing and she has worked in academic and research institutions in Kenya and South Africa.
Her research project is investigating the extent to which drug and vaccine resistant mutations circulate in African populations infected with hepatitis B virus, with a focus on cohorts in South Africa and Uganda.
She is being supervised by Professor Philippa Matthews and Professor Eleanor Barnes.
