Clinical Vaccine Trials taking place in Birmingham

The Jenner Institute works with colleagues at the NIHR/Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility to run clinical vaccine trials in the Birmingham area.  Details of our current trials are below:

  • TB041 A clinical challenge trial to evaluate controlled human infection with BCG administered by the aerosol inhaled route compared with the intradermal route in healthy, BCG-naïve, UK adult volunteers.  To find out more, click here.
  • TB040 A phase I trial to compare the safety and immunogenicity of candidate TB vaccine MVA85A administered by the aerosol inhaled route and the intramuscular route in healthy adult volunteers who are latently infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
