Research
Dr. Warimwe is a veterinary surgeon with a keen interest in translational clinical research spanning both veterinary and human health. He is currently developing viral-vectored recombinant vaccines against Rift Valley Fever, a mosquito-borne viral zoonosis associated with substantial morbidity and mortality in both livestock and humans in Africa and parts of the Middle East.
His research exemplifies the Jenner Institute’s support for an integrated approach to human and animal disease control, with an effective Rift Valley Fever vaccine for livestock also likely to be useful for humans.
