Grade 6: £25,854 - £30,870 p.a.The Jenner Institute’s Clinical BioManufacturing facility is the University of Oxford’s MHRA licensed GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) facility, where the basic research into vaccines and potential advanced therapies can be translated into an Investigational Medicinal Product suitable for use in first in man clinical trials.
We are seeking an enthusiastic experienced post degree laboratory manager to oversee the maintenance of the building and fixed plant and GMP process equipment with a high level of attention to detail. Part of the role will involve working in the laboratory with the process development team involving cell culture, purification and running assays (particularly Elisa or Immunostaining).You should be able to work without supervision and prioritise effectively. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a part of a team are essential. A proven track record in a similar role in industry or academia ideally within the biopharmaceutical/ biotechnological sector would be an advantage. Good record-keeping skills are essential.

___________________________________________________________________________Clinical Trial Recruitment Co-ordinator (Maternity Cover)
Grade 6: £25,854 - £30,870You will be part of the clinical trials team and your main duty will be to facilitate the process of volunteer recruitment in clinical trials. You will use your creativity for identifying target audiences most likely to volunteer to participate in clinical trials.
Using your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will go out and talk to people to maximise the general public’s awareness of the new clinical trials, developing novel ideas for advertising the group’s work and maintaining links with potential volunteers for possible enrolment into future trials.
Working with colleges, universities and other institutions, you will co-coordinate communication with the public and the clinical trials team and organise meetings to disseminate knowledge about ongoing and planned clinical trials. You will ensure that any volunteers who express an interest in taking part in trials will be put in touch with the clinical trials team who will provide them with the necessary information sheets and explain the screening process. You will assist the clinical trials team with filing and general office duties related to running clinical trials at the CCVTM.
You should have the drive and commitment necessary to succeed in this challenging task and will take responsibility for ensuring that we work within ethically approved guidelines when recruiting volunteers. The position will be based at the Centre for Clinical Vaccinology and Tropical Medicine, Churchill Hospital, Oxford. However, this role may involve travelling to other clinical study sites within the UK. This position is available for up to 8 months in the first instance. ___________________________________________________________________________Postdoctoral Immunologist – HIV-1 vaccine development (Internal Applicants only)
Grade 7: (£29,099 – 35,788) per annumWe are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated scientist possessing experience in immunology with an ability to work to a high standard.
You will have a PhD degree in immunology and previous experience of rodent immunology. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. Along with, experience in recombinant DNA construction of new plasmids and cellular immunology techniques carried out with murine samples including ELISPOT, ELISA, flow cytometry and sterile cell culture.
You will have knowledge of the standard laboratory techniques for cellular immunology as applied to pre-clinical trials of new vaccines. You must have an adaptable approach to work and a willingness to tackle a variety of tasks. Support and troubleshooting guidance will be available. However, after induction, an ability to work without supervision, combining a structured and organised approach with enthusiasm will be important.
Experience with bacteriology and virology under category II conditions and vaccines are desirable.

Grade 6: £25,854 – £30,870 p.a.A Research Assistant position is available at the Jenner Institute, University of Oxford in Dr Reyes-Sandoval’s group. The research programme focuses on developing a malaria vaccine using recombinant viruses to target the pre-erythrocytic stage of P. vivax through the induction of cytotoxic lymphocytes and antibodies. You will perform the pre-clinical work to assess efficacy of new vaccine candidates, as well as the development of new vaccine candidates in the form of proteins or recombinant viral vectors.
You will have a good degree in biological sciences or chemistry together with a keen interest in malaria and immunology of infectious diseases. Previous laboratory experience in immunological techniques to assess immune responses, especially flow cytometry, ELISPOT and ELISA is also essential. Additionally, you will have the knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques. The post requires excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex scientific information clearly and precisely together with good interpersonal skills.
The post will be based in the Jenner Institute within the Nuffield Department of Medicine at the University of Oxford. Both the department and institute have outstanding facilities for molecular and cellular immunology.
