Clinical Research Fellows
The Institute's Clinical Research Fellows are the trial physicians who are responsible for the planning, implementation and analysis of clinical vaccine trials in the UK and in overseas field sites, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa. They are involved in all aspects of clinical trial conduct, including Good Clinical Practice, trial design, protocol development, Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) management, project management, Ethics and Regulatory applications.
Clinical Research Fellows work closely with basic scientists who engineer the vaccines in order to design appropriate studies for these first-in-man formulations to safely assess reactogenicity, whilst maximising the ability of trials to assess potential immunogenicity and efficacy.
